Web High Stakes Poker- Gus Hansen

Gus Hansen enjoyed a wonderful year on the World Poker Tour where he was the only gambler to make it to the last table in 3 of the events. Gus Hansen has been seen on High Stakes Poker on The Game Show Network where he bought into the game for $400, 000. You may remember one of the biggest pots in big stakes poker history competing against Daniel Negreanu. He secured a large pot with quads against Negreanu’s full house. Hansen has earned many tv poker appearances and is deemed to be one of the greatest players around the world. While gambling on internet poker, a different side of Hansen has been seen. Gus regularly participates in the 200/400 No Limit maximum buy-in of $40, 000. Gus frequently buys in for the min of Sixteen Thousand dollars and gambles very poorly. He sits there waiting for a decent hand and then pushes all-in. I know Hansen is an outstanding poker player but certainly not even close to the familiar players at 200/400NL. Unless Gus is penniless, he has absolutely no reason to settle at the table with the min buy-in.

Playing for the minimum takes almost all of the ability out of big stack poker. Gus is accepted to be 1 of the best poker players in the world but he can’t buy-in for the full amount. I believe tv can skew our perception of the real world every now and then. The best poker players anywhere in the world might just be guys you have will not have heard of. Gus can be seen competing in web poker on Full Tilt. He commonly plays in high stakes omaha eight-or-better and texas holdem. Gus has shown himself as a competition player. Can he use his abilities in cash games?
